PageRanker Score: website authority without the spam
A 0 to 100 score for how much real, independent link authority a website has. Built for local businesses, where a few genuine links matter more than thousands of junk ones.
How it compares with other authority scores
PageRanker Score sits in the same family as Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR), Moz Domain Authority (DA) and Semrush Authority Score (AS). All four put a website on a 0 to 100 scale from its backlink profile, and all four are logarithmic, so moving from 60 to 70 takes far more than moving from 10 to 20.
The difference is what gets counted. Third-party link indexes pick up every link they crawl, including private blog networks, auto-generated pages on throwaway domains and negative SEO link blasts. Those links can push a site's DR or DA up or down without a single real customer ever seeing them. PageRanker Score removes them before scoring.
What gets filtered out
- Nofollow links. Only followed links pass authority, so nofollow referring domains are not counted.
- Network links. When many referring domains share the same few server subnets, they are almost always one owner. We count independent subnets, not raw domains.
- Throwaway domains. Links from bulk-registered extensions that spam networks favor (.store, .site, .shop, .online, .website, .space, .xyz and similar), and links hidden in collapsed page sections where networks bury them, are discounted by their share of the profile.
- High spam signals. Profiles with a high backlink spam score are discounted further.
The formula
Clean referring domains = followed referring domains × (1 − throwaway-domain share), capped at independent subnets × 1.5, then reduced by the spam discount. PageRanker Score = 6 × ln(1 + clean referring domains), capped at 100.
